2013
Mark Winter and Edward Stevenson establish UKRL as a rail leasing company following the purchase of a fleet of Cl.56 locomotives. Lease agreed with Freightliner.

2014
UKRL acquire lease of Leicester depot to return to service and maintain cl.56 fleet. Third party maintenance business also starts to grow.

2018
UKRL acquire freehold of Leicester Depot following sale by DB Cargo.
Derby signalling works result in Leicester depot being used as a temporary strategic overnight traincare facility for intercity passenger trains.

2022
UKRL acquires lease of Loughborough heavy maintenance facility (Former Brush Wabtec Site). Footprint of >50,000 sq ft heavy maintenance facility establishes UKRL as end to end service provider.

2023
UKRL invest £1.6m and commences work on new two road maintenance shed at Leicester to enable maintenance of Cl.99 fleet for Stadler & GRBf.
Board appoints Gareth Roberts as Managing Director, former Operations Director at Hitachi Rail.

Due to customer demand, UKRL extends its footprint at Loughborough site to >125,000 sqft.
